TEP is an equal opportunities employer and actively values diversity. Our Equality and Respect policy is applied in recruitment, induction, promotion and retention. In order to ensure that we act in accordance with best practice, we asked ACAS to review our procedures and they commented that they were very good.

Our 2011 Investors In People Gold audit specifically concentrated on equal opportunities issues, and found that evidence that TEP has taken positive actions to create a diverse and talented workforce included:

• Employees and associates in the age
   range from college-leaver to over 60
• Arrangements to enable people to
   work beyond pensionable age
• Individuals in roles that run counter
   to gender stereotype
• Non-EU citizens and individuals from
   a variety of ethnic backgrounds

Our confidential employee survey confirmed that a significant majority of staff feel that equality and diversity is actively encouraged at TEP.
