TEP is preparing a GIS of all the features of principal biodiversity importance in Tameside, Greater Manchester. All UK and Greater Manchester Biodiversity Action Plan habitats are mapped onto the GIS from Phase 1 survey data held by the Council. Records of protected fauna and other species of concern are also mapped using data supported by local experts. The GIS will be used for development control and will also help the Council in forward planning of ecological networks and green infrastructure.
