Environmental Planning Consultancy - Greenlands Marina and Waterside Garden

Greenlands Marina and Waterside Garden

TEP co-ordinated and produced the Environmental Statement (ES) which accompanied the application for planning permission for the proposed development at Bilsborrow, Garstang.

The development comprises a marina off the Lancaster Canal, a garden centre and waterside gardens, a hotel and restaurant and a harbourmaster/chandlery. The project was granted planning permission by Wyre Borough Council in 2005.

In addition to the overall co-ordination of the ES, TEP assessed the effects of the development on landscape character and visual amenity, which were important in this essentially rural location, and also assessed the effects of the development on ecology. The ecological effects assessed included those of increased traffic using the canal on the aquatic ecology.
