The marshes of the London Thames Gateway and North Kent are unique landscapes. DCLG (Department for Communities and Local Government) is supporting the development of green infrastructure across the marshes. TEP was engaged to produce a green infrastructure strategy: taking account of the aspirations of communities and the need to restore sustainable ecosystems.
The strategy focuses on Crayford, Dartford and Erith Marshes and draws on the aspirations of local authorities, landowners and partners to find mechanisms for ongoing stewardship and management.
The Managing the Marshes Strategy has been included in the draft Green Grid Framework for South East London. It will be used for publicity, stakeholder engagement, community and landowner liaison and to support funding bids.
