Environmental Regeneration - Newlands community woodlands

Newlands

Several of TEP’s projects contributed to the development of the Newlands programme, a £23m scheme led by the Forestry Commission and NWDA to reclaim large areas of brownfield land to community woodlands across the Northwest.

TEP has had a core role in Newlands creation, development and delivery from the co-ordination of the Mersey and Red Rose Forest Landfill Woodland project (for which TEP won the Project of the Year award) to the construction of the Derelict, Underused and Neglected Land database and the creation and on-going development of the Public Benefit Recording System.

TEP had a key role in the launch of the Newlands programme in 2003, presenting the DUNL survey and Newlands PBRS results in the House of Commons.
