An outline planning application for a strategic new housing site at Manydown has just been submitted to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.
Manydown is a 320ha site west of Basingstoke. The overall vision is to create a new community of connected neighbourhoods developed in a well-planned and coordinated way – combining the best features from Hampshire villages and towns with a contemporary sustainable design. It is hoped that Manydown will enable 3000 new homes, together with new schools, community facilities and a Country Park.
The planning application is accompanied by an Environmental Statement and the Design and Access Statement, which includes many illustrations of the design concepts.
The submission is the culmination of 18 months of careful Masterplanning, extensive stakeholder engagement, negotiation with statutory consultees and detailed impact assessment.
TEP’s landscape architects, ecologists and arboriculturalists worked closely with lead Masterplanner Tibbalds and engineers Campbell Reith, to devise a strong and coherent landscape strategy, incorporating comprehensive ecological mitigation measures and a tree protection strategy.
