Principal Ecologist

Rachel Hayward is a Principal Ecologist at TEP and leads the Ecology team. Rachel started at TEP in 2001, after completing her PhD in great crested newt behavioural ecology. She specialises in protected species mitigation, ecological impact assessment, planning and biodiversity and management planning.

Rachel manages and implements TEP’s intensive and comprehensive annual field survey programme, co-ordinating the Ecology Team and supporting field ecologists and subconsultants. She leads on a range of multi-disciplinary projects for private developers, the public sector and non-statutory organisations on a wide range of projects.
