The value of open space is now widely recognised and there is general appreciation that a sound strategy will help achieve objectives for improvement to environment, recreation, leisure and social regeneration. A strategy sets out the vision and identifies the resources, methods and priorities for implementing that vision. The document must be succinct and easily understood but provide the detail to inform the decision-making process. It should also be capable of responding to changes in policy or the needs and aspirations of communities. TEP has developed a number of strategies for open space management and development including: Green Network Strategy (Wrexham CBC), Managing the Marshes (Bexley Council) and Castlefields Tree Strategy (Halton BC).
