As part of TEP's Term Landscape Consultancy with Halton Borough Council, the Stewardship Team is undertaking a study of the tree stock in 110 hectares of the Castlefields Region. Areas of Castlefields are undergoing regeneration and renovation to improve the area and a Sustainability Appraisal completed by TEP in Oct 2005 identified an impact on the existing tree stock.
The study is informing a Tree Strategy Document to secure and guide the sustainable management of trees on Council and Housing Association property. The strategy is a working document that identifies a pallet of suitable species for planting in different landscape types, and operational guidelines for future management of the tree stock.
