TEP was commissioned to provide advice and recommendations on protecting, enhancing and expanding green infrastructure (GI) in South Hampshire.
The research phase examined the geography and demography of the area and the implications of predicted future changes from growth and climate change, together with an analysis of GI priorities.
Principles and a vision for GI in South Hampshire were set out, and broad areas of opportunity and priorities identified in a series of (thematic) implementation programmes and an overall spatial framework, showing broad geographical areas where GI investment is most needed.
Recommendations for further work were made, potential sources of funding identified, and examples of good practice highlighted to provide PUSH Authorities with strategic information to underpin decision making.
Extensive stakeholder consultation was central to this work.
