Mapping and GIS

TEP has a large mapping and GIS team who use ArcGIS and MapInfo software to analyse and illustrate environmental and demographic data and trends. A picture says a thousand words, and spatial representations can demonstrate priorities and needs within an area, help decision-makers and focus investment. Maps are also vital in community and stakeholder engagement.

GIS is a powerful tool in landscape and visual impact assessment. We use Spatial and 3D analysis techniques to develop viewshed maps and assess the impact of overhead transmission lines, wind farms and large building proposals.

Our walkzone mapping techniques are useful when assessing accessibility and quantity of neighbourhood open spaces.

Our clients include central and local government, large corporate landowners such as Forestry Commission and HCA; and infrastructure providers like National Grid.
