Principal Landscape Architect

BSc (Hons) MA LA CMLI

Career:  I have been working as a Landscape Architect since completing my MA at the University of Greenwich in 2011.  Before re-training as a Landscape Architect, I worked as an Environmental Consultant developing best practice guidance and supporting design teams on major building and infrastructure projects.  As a consultant I focussed on resource efficiency, carbon foot-printing, urban ecology and sustainable drainage.  These themes have carried through into my work as a Landscape Architect, with a focus on green infrastructure in urban and suburban spaces. Projects have included SuDS retrofit, a wetland boardwalk, multiple park and social housing regeneration schemes, historic garden restoration works and public art. My interest is in combining strong design concepts with sound detailing to create landscapes that are multi-functional, beautiful and diverse.

Listening to: All genres of music, but particularly dance/electronica – the Late Night Tales series, Aphex Twin, LTJ Bukem, Daft Punk etc.

Reading: The Sound of One Hand Clapping by Richard Flanagan, Topos and Doughnut Economics by Kate Raworth

Watching: Sport, boxsets and any film by Wes Anderson.

Not a lot of people know but: Zammo from Grange Hill is my brother-in-law!

Favourite Things: Family, Swimming, The Square and Compass pub in Dorset, Dungeness, walks through the woods, Baklava, 30mins sat in the garden with a coffee and nothing else to do….
