TEP is assisting Epsom and Ewell Borough Council address a shortage of grave space within the Borough. The existing cemetery on Downs Road in Epsom, Surrey, is close to capacity and in order to ensure adequate space for future burials, TEP has been commissioned to prepare the design for an extension on land immediately to the south of the existing cemetery. The design, which will adopt a formal layout in keeping with the existing facility, will create an additional 1600 cremation and grave spaces set in lawns with tree planting, bench seating and watering points. The boundary of the extension area will be formed with a new stone wall and the entrances flanked with stone piers and ornamental metal gates, replicating the existing gateway features. TEP has prepared the planning application which comprises a Planning, Design and Access Statement, a Flood Risk Assessment (by EPG), Ecology report, Archaeological Assessment, Landscape and Visual Assessment and a Transport Assessment (by Campbell Reith). The application was submitted to the local planning authority in September 2018.
