Homes England owns over 10,000 hectares of land across England. This portfolio is very diverse, ranging from high profile ornamental landscapes and buildings in town centres to rural footpath corridors.
One example is TEP’s Telford Landscape Management and Cleansing Contract in Shropshire. This contract has a menu of estate management operations, tailored to the nature and use of each site. Summer works are focussed on vegetation management and amenity, and in winter there is a focus on remedial, safety and regenerative landscape works.
Another example is vacant property management across the north of England. This includes buildings such as the Victorian mill complex in Ancoats, Manchester and the Littlewoods Pools HQ in Liverpool. Homes England inherited these iconic buildings from the former Northwest Development Agency. TEP manages various contracts to ensure the buildings remain secure and weathertight, prior to their redevelopment. TEP’s arranges minor estate works contracts, including for example the artisanal fabrication of ironwork to windows in a Listed Building at Ancoats.
TEP’s expertise in contract administration and local knowledge ensure that key sites are targeted and Homes England’s interests are safeguarded.
TEP addresses health and safety problems relating to the landscape, as well as supervising all works carried out by the contractors, ensuring the obligations of the contract are being met. TEP also handles public queries and complaints on behalf of Homes England, and we strive to find solutions which suit all parties.
As and when parcels of landscape are transferred from Homes England to the Council or local trusts and parish councils, TEP assists with the long-term costing of landscape operations and supports Homes England in negotiations.
