Professional Philosophy

TEP recognises that development is essential in order to satisfy basic human needs.  Since early times, people have been developing the land on which they live.  Development has always been a key process in the creation of our wealth and well-being.  TEP believes that, unless carefully planned and designed, development can also have disadvantages which ultimately outweigh its benefits.
TEP considers our natural habitats as not merely aesthetic and recreational parts of the landscape but as essential parts of the natural resources on which all life relies.  We have an obligation to play our part in looking after the long-term interests of wildlife with which we share the Earth.
One of our principal objectives is to ensure that development does not ignore these issues as the consequences can be far-reaching and often irreversible. However, we believe that with careful and innovative planning, design and implementation, many potential problems can be avoided, minimised or mitigated.  We therefore advise our clients on the basis of a consideration of the environment at all levels during the development process.
The range of talents and skills which can be brought to bear on environmental issues by TEP is such that a balanced and pragmatic approach can be formulated for all projects, recognising the needs of development and the needs of the environment.  In short, TEP seeks to achieve sustainable development in all the projects it undertakes for clients.
TEP believes that economic progress and stewardship of the environment are intertwined and interdependent.  A good quality environment is necessary for good business and good living.
