Shortlisted for Two Landscape Institute Awards 2025

We’re delighted to share that TEP has been shortlisted in two categories at the Landscape Institute Awards 2025. Being shortlisted is a testament to the quality and innovation embedded in the work of our teams and partners across these important projects that support both communities and the environment.

The Excellence in Biodiversity Conservation and Enhancement Award

Our first shortlisted project is the Lost Wetlands Landscape Recovery Project, recognised in the Excellence in Biodiversity Conservation and Enhancement Award. This category celebrates projects that enhance habitats and strengthen ecological connectivity.

The Lost Wetlands Nature Recovery Project aims to create a thriving wetland landscape in North West England. TEP supported Natural England and other partners with two key workstreams: regional mapping and assessment of current and historic ponds to identify opportunities for wetland restoration, and site analysis and wetland design at William Wroe Meadows. Drawing on expertise from our Landscape Architecture, GIS, Ecology and Land Management teams, this collaborative effort has laid the foundations for significant nature recovery. We are grateful to the client group, Natural England, City of Trees, National Trust, and Trafford Council, as well as the many stakeholders who helped shape the work and outputs.

The Landscape and Parks Management Award

The second project shortlisted is A Landscape Vision for Bedgebury: National Pinetum Landscape Masterplan, which is recognised in the Landscape and Parks Management Award. This award celebrates excellence in the management and stewardship of landscapes, and Bedgebury offers a particularly unique case. Set in the High Weald of Kent, the Pinetum is home to one of the world’s largest and most complete conifer collections, acting as a hub for conservation, research and public engagement.

Forestry England commissioned TEP to prepare a long-term masterplan to guide the Pinetum’s development and management for the next 20 years and beyond. Over a 12 month period, we carried out in-depth research, engaged with staff, volunteers, visitors and stakeholders, and gathered insights through surveys and workshops. The resulting interactive and accessible masterplan is now actively shaping the future of Bedgebury and can be viewed on the Forestry England website.
