Career: Left Edinburgh Uni in ‘83 to be a forester in Scotland, then to Afghan border with TEARFUND to do community woodlots. Home to be an ecologist, first with Gillespies, then Merseyside Councils. Co-founded TEP in ’97.

Listening to: Probably something from U2; definitely something my children would be embarrassed by!

Reading: “God’s Politics” by Jim Wallis – a call for politics to address social justice and spiritual renewal

Best Project: I’m hugely proud that TEP has helped the environmental and built regeneration of the Northwest – working with clients and colleagues with great personalities, vision and passion. I’ve particularly enjoyed working on reclamation of brownfield sites such as various landfills that are now community woodland, and an abandoned unsafe claypit in North Wales that is now regenerated as a site for 300 family homes and a nature reserve.

Not a lot of people know but…. I have the worst old passport photo ever
