TEP’s Landscape Managers Qualify as Green Flag Award Judges

Green Flag Judges

TEP’s Land Management team is delighted to announce that seven additional colleagues are now Green Flag Award judges.

Congratulations to the new judges who join nine fellow Green Flag Award judges, bringing our current total to sixteen. TEP’s team of Green Flag Award judges apply their expertise supporting landowners and green space managers in achieving quality and accessible green spaces for all.

Green Flag Judges
Congratulations go to: (Top row L-R) Connor Tucker, Katie Bennett, Paul Bennison, Rob Starkie;
(Bottom row L-R) Sam Talbot, Sorrel Bruce and Tom Ridley.

The Green Flag Award is an internationally-recognised benchmark quality standard for parks and green spaces globally. The Award began in 1996 in the UK and was first awarded in 1997 by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, as a means of recognising and rewarding the best parks and green spaces in the UK. Further information about the award is available on the Green Flag Award Website. Green Flag Award judges assess open spaces that have applied for the Award through a site inspection and review of the site management plan.

Our team completes Open Space Assessments which provide a robust assessment of publicly accessible open spaces for local authorities, assist landowners in Management and Maintenance Plans, and support funding bids through the creation of Conservation Management Plans. Recent work includes working alongside Greenbelt to produce a Management Plan for North Hamilton, Leicester which achieved the Green Flag Award in 2022, and the Rutland Open Space Assessment and Green Infrastructure Study.

If you would like more information, please email the team and we will be happy to help.
