Jonathan Smith is an Associate Director and Chartered Arboriculturist with responsibility for TEP’s arboricultural sector. With more than 19 years’ experience in private consultancy, he leads complex multidisciplinary projects involving arboriculture, landscape design, environmental planning and ecology.
Jonathan specialises in arboricultural impact assessment and development planning, working with developers, trusts and public sector organisations to support planning applications and discharge conditions. He has extensive knowledge of tree-related legislation and strong working relationships with Local Authority Tree Officers. Jonathan has a particular interest in construction close to trees, collaborating with project teams to develop practical and innovative solutions that support sustainable development while protecting valuable tree assets.
