Landscape Strategy

We help clients and organisations plan, enhance and care for some of our most important landscapes, including National Landscapes, National Nature Reserves, Forests and Country Parks. Drawing together skills from Landscape Architecture, Landscape Management, Ecology, Heritage and GIS, we prepare plans and strategies that enhance the visitor experience, conserve nature and heritage, and support landscape resilience.

Every place is different. Our strategies build from a thorough understanding of the landscape developed through comprehensive desk studies, targeted survey work and inclusive community and stakeholder engagement. We work with our clients and stakeholders to achieve a balance between visitor access and enjoyment, and conservation.

We prepare plans to meet the needs of the teams delivering them, with a focus on every-day reference and well-structured proposals. It is vital that they clearly communicate what matters and why. We combine succinct text description, high-quality graphics and interactive mapped content to ensure that outputs are jargon-free and engaging.

Our recent work includes the production of Access & Engagement Plans for the North Kent Woods and Down National Nature Reserve and the North Wessex Downs National Landscape, A Country Parks Strategy for Swindon and Resilience Strategies for Thetford Forest in East Anglia and the Mourne Mountains in Northern Ireland. We have also prepared comprehensive spatial and landscape management plans for Buckinghamshire’s Country Parks, and an award-winning masterplan for Bedgebury National Pinetum in Kent.
