Health and safety assessments are necessary for the development of long-term arboricultural management strategies for tree stocks and are essential for tree owners to satisfy their duty of care. TEP has developed a tree management system for the management of the Homes & Communities Agency tree stock nationwide.
The database, designed and implemented by TEP specialists, is integrated with a Geographic Information System (GIS). Accurate tree locations are collected on site utilising a mobile GPS unit that achieves sub-metre accuracy. Outputs can be produced from the collected data ranging from basic tree inventory and inspection schedules to detailed tree, site or region specific surveys and works orders for contract management and budget monitoring.
